Somewhere around February 9th I am told Sacré Cordon Bleu is actually going to be available in the shops. Are all book launches this vague, I wonder, or is it just because mine is so incredibly important to the future of the book trade as we know it?
The Independent
Scheduled to appear as the cover story for The Independent’s ‘Extra’ section on Monday 18 February is a 3,000 word story, ‘Recipes Are Bad for Your Health’, I am writing at the moment about our addiction to, and dependence on, recipes.
BBC Radio 4
I am very excited to announce that from 25 Feb Sacré Cordon Bleu is going to be read aloud as BBC Radio 4’s Book of the Week by actor/comedian/man of several voices (hopefully one of them French), Alex Lowe. You can hear it at 9.45am and 00.45am from Monday to Friday. Does this mean I get to meet John Humphrys?
Paris Food Tours
In the meantime I am fine-tuning my exclusive Paris Food Tours, which will take lucky food lovers on a whirlwind (actually, it’ll probably be quite sedate as we’ll be passing several chocolatiers and patisseries) tour of some of my favourite food sights. Find out more and book here.
Sushi and Beyond
Meanwhile, I am working feverishly to complete my next food book (provisionally titled Sushi and Beyond, although I still have a sneaking preference for Sushi Size Me), about me and my family’s food odyssey traveling the length of Japan.
