Obligatory asparagus food blog post

Spotted these little beauties in my favourite Paris market the other day. They are wild asparagus. No, I've never seen them before either but I fried them in butter and served them as a bed for some fresh scallops with a zingy dressing and they were transcendent – fresh, grassy, crisp and sweet.

(And note the fresh morel mushrooms next door. Sadly, I don't have a name which ends in '…ockerfeller' so I couldn't quite stretch to them).
